Enter live fishing and spearfishing comps, compete on species leaderboards, and win prizes. Register once, catch your fish, post it with the right photos, and you're automatically in the running.
1
Register
Open Your Fish, head to Tournaments and tap into the comp you want to enter. Hit register and you're in.
2
Catch the target species
Get out on the water and land the species listed for the comp. Each tournament specifies the target fish.
3
Post and tag it
Create a post with your required photos, tag the tournament species and enter your measurement. You're automatically entered onto the leaderboard.
4
Check the leaderboard
Track your position in real time. Each tournament has a live leaderboard ranked by fish size. May the biggest fish win.
Auto-entry
Any post made during a tournament that has the correct species tagged will automatically be entered into the running. No extra forms, no manual sorting. Post it, tag it, you're in.
Important:
Correctly photographing your fish is critical. Photos that are not clearly visible may be refused entry. Dishonest or improper measurements may result in disqualification.
Submitting your catch
Your catch must be posted no later than 2 days after the fish is harvested. Late posts may not be accepted.
Competition deadline
All submissions must be posted before 11:59pm on the last day of the competition. Anything after this cut-off will not be counted.
Fisheries compliance
All fisheries laws and regulations must be complied with for the area the fish is harvested. A breach may result in disqualification.
Review process
All submissions are reviewed within 48 hours before being officially accepted onto the leaderboard. Any discrepancies between entries are reviewed by 3 independent judges and resolved by unanimous decision.
Every submission must include four photos. These are what the judges use to verify the catch and measurement. No photos, no entry.
1
You holding the fish
A clear photo of the angler holding the fish they caught.
2
Fish on the measuring mat with timestamp
Top-down photo of the full fish on the mat, head at zero, tail at the measurement. A phone or watch must be visible in frame to show date and time.
3
Close-up of the tail measurement
A separate close-up photo clearly showing where the tail lands on the measurement line.
4
Angler holding the fish
A photo of the person who caught the fish holding it — confirming identity of the catch.
Fish
The mouth must touch the zero cm mark on the measuring mat.
Measurement is taken from the mouth to the end of the tail (outside edge of the fork).
Photos must be taken from directly above.
Fish mouths must be resting, not held open or stretched.
Measured to the nearest decimal, round down.
If the fish is too big for the mat, a tape measure may be used with both start and end points clearly visible.
Lobster / Crayfish
The tail must touch the zero cm mark on the mat.
Measurement is taken from the edge of the tail to where the carapace meets the tail.
Photos from directly above. Measured to the nearest decimal, round down.
Tail and head must remain connected during measurement.
Head connection
The head must remain fully connected to the body during measurement.
If the throat is disconnected due to spearing, place the head back in line with the body for photos.
Do not fully neck the fish before taking measurement photos.

Early 2023, I was on a road trip around Tasmania in my troopy, eager to get out spearfishing as much as I could. The hard part? Linking up with other spearos. I was never in the same spot for long, and finding people to dive with kept being a challenge. So I thought, how cool would it be to have an on-demand buddy finder? Something that lets you easily connect with fellow ocean-goers whenever and wherever you are.
Journey So Far
So the idea grew from there. The prototype was released early 2024 and after 2 years of trial and error we have finally now released a global ready to use version of Your Fish.
Our Mission
"Wherever you are in the world , whether you're a spearfisher in Exmouth, a line fisher in Cairns, or passing through Fiji with a free afternoon, you should be able to find a crew. Free. Always."
The Team
